Doesn't it require a special left-handed gun, sorta like the blinker fluid applicator?

Default No but if your working with the car on ramps you wont have room >>

to position the gun perpendicular to the floor, so you need to rig up a flexible tip that allows you to position the gun parallel to the floor and bend the tip ~90 degrees upwards into the hole.

I crammed a 6in length of silicone hose in between the cartridge and the tip.

On Steve's lift this wouldn't be an issue ;-)
