Default New to Audi, purchasing an 04 manual TT, is it a good car?

This is the ad for it, I've talked to the guy, and its getting checked out by a mechanic this weekend

54020 miles. Extremely well maintained, excellent condition grey interior and exterior. All Maint. records, Synth. oil changes every 5000. Recent maint. Kevlar timing belt, water pump(with metal impeller) thermostat, thermostat housing, tensioner roller, tensioner assembly,, motor mount bolts, camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, coolant and new clutch with new flywheel. Only 6000 miles avg. anually. newer tires with just over 10,000 miles on them. Always garaged, non-smoker, 6 speed manual trans. Newer iridium spark plugs, air filter, battery, and fuel filter. Bose premium sound with 6 CD changer, and APR chipped. Never tracked, excellent condition, looks an drives great no accidents, clear carfax. recent professional detail inside and out. Mid-life crisis now over, now need larger car for family outings

Now he seemed to know his info, replaced timing belt and water pump preventatively, the clutch when out on him so that was replaced. He said he did a lot of synthetic fluid changes preventatively, but how much longer does this transmission have? He said it hasn't given him a problem. Should I be worried about a 5000 dollar transmission in a year?

Default Sounds great if the price is right

IMO the pre-2002 cars are the most troublesome but this is a realtive assessment since they all have been very reliable for me. I had a few more minor issuse with my 01 than my 04. If you look at other TT forums, like Quattroworld, you will see lots of folks with 150K+ on the tranny, including the clutch. The tranny is bullet-proof. Replacing the clutch aleardy sounds strange unless he did a lot of city driving or abused it. He's already replaced all the other major items so I would expect routine maintenance for the next 5 years or 60K from the time he replaced the timing belt, etc because you must replace the timing belt, etc again at that interval.
