Default New Audi TT vs. the new 3 series Coupe'

Haven't seen both in person yet, but the more I look at the new 3 series, its actually a very clean and classy design and not too mangled by Bangle. I am sure that in person, the car would probably look better (as I hope with the new TT). What's interesting is the powerplant: twin turbo; one turbo for each 3 cylinders. Performance is close to the current M3. I'm surprised BMW is using turbos where historically, their high peformance cars are normally aspirated. Now whats REALLY interesting is the diesel coupe' that does a claimed 0-62 in 6.6 secs. while getting a claimed 43MPG. Is this car a direct competition to the new TT? I think so.<ul><li><a href="http://www.businessweek.com/innovate/content/apr2006/id20060426_124236.htm">The new 3 series coupe'</a></li></ul>

Default I disagree completely... >

I don't think it's worth comparing the new e92 coupe with a car like the TT... apples to oranges... if you want to compare the TT to something made by BMW i would pit the TT Roadster/Coupe against the Z4 roadster/coupe.

we need to stop all this BMW talk anyways... Audi's 2.7T is a perfect example of this exact same 'technology'. 6 cylinders with BITURBO setup (one turbo for every 3 cylinders). It's already been done but BMW's being forced to offer this engine probably because of market forces... there's a horsepower war actively being waged and somebody has to take top trumps.

Default 3 is competition to the TT?

Perhaps you've never seen an A4/S4?

I'd be carefull with buying a turbo car from BMW til they show that they know how to build one.
