Default OK...>>>

1- What you are most likely hearing is the DV just "talking to ya" as the OEM is crap. Plus with extra boost....it will be louder.

2- That is soft limp mode. This is caused by overboost conditions typically or failing MAF's.

M power this! suggestion of replacing your engine temp sensor if it is not the green one is good start...
It is possible it is a MAF...I would suggest you find someone that has VAG-COM....captured airflow across the MAF would give it away. With a new chip in there..i would believe that would expose the failing MAF. They are cheap, and our car's have a tendency to enjoy using them.

You do not want to keep hitting soft limp mode....eventually, hard limp will show up, and that is difficult to fully clear without a VAG-COM or by disconnecting the battery for 15mins or so.....

Default yep..gray...green one is cheap...5$...replace the one you have>>

you will be happier later. That little sensor for some reason does weird crap to our cars, unless it is the green version.

The TT really is very sensitive to electrical current....

Default will do >>>

Can I get this part from VW (they are closer). Is the install as simple as it looks? I'm going to get coolant everywhere? Have to bleed the system?

Default yes, buy it and the o-ring at VW

do it when the car is COLD and you won't loose but a drop of coolant. unscrew the cap to the coolant bubble and then pull the black plastic C-clip that holds in the sensor. make sure to get the old o-ring out!!! when putting the new sensor in double check that the C-clip is properly holding it in. 5mins total

The 5500 cut out is probably just intake getting too hot. Need FMIC. Thats what it was for me.

Then reduce the ign advance and boost to a level where it doesn't cut back.

Default I had a cut-out problem at exactly 5500 rpm as well......

My boost would go to zero. It turned out to be a partially blocked TTDA. It may be that your stock intake isn't providing enough air for the chipped engine to breath? Need a new air intake, maybe?

Default check your plugs>>

sounds like a misfire.... might wanna check your spark plug gap.. (and close it up a lil...)

i dont remember the recommended gap or the correct replacement plugs... (sorry)

my fwd will cut a lil if my esp isnt "off" (light on)... and it will blink when the power stops....

the whistle might be a boost leak from the extra boost from your chip/flash...

you def. need a boost gauge.... i think you can VAG boost....

good luck w/it..
