everytime I start the car on a cold morning, I can hear a hissing sound coming from the bottom of the car. I first thought it was the intercooler hose leaking but it seems to come from a black mini tubine/fan of some sort that sits in front of the oil pan very close the the passenger side intercooler. Once the engine is warmed up the noise usually goes away. If it comes back later in the day, it's usually much softer.

Is that normal? Anyone knows what that is?

Also if I get the rpm to about 3K ++ and let the car roll(not stepping on the accelarator) there is a loud resonationg sound coming from the middle back of the car. It seems as if the muffler is rusted out or there is a hole along the exhaust. However I found nothing rusted out or any hole along the exhaust.

I'm kinda dumbfounded by these sounds.

i've seen so many people describe so many sounds on here during cold starts.

i get hissing too once in a while, along with some occasional gargling sounds, but it all goes away after a couple of minutes....it seems to depend upon the weather/humidity i think. sometimes i start the car and it's totally silent, and other days it's as if i've fired up a tractor.

i just think of it all as normal...since it only lasts a couple of minutes.
