Default Ok flame me if you wish, but where can I get a contstant switched power...

I need a switched power that doesn't go off when I start the car. I have my Zeitronix wideband hooked up and I get power and the wideband heats up for 15-30 secs then I get to start the car and when I start it powercycles and go through the heat cycle again.
Today I tried moving the power source and still didn't work Where do you suggest I hook up?

Default Confused by "switched", do you mean constant 12volts?.....

The red terminals are constant 12 volts, use a fuse for safety as close as possible to the terminal. The yellow is a "switched", on with ignition only. You can also tap into the lighter for constant 12 volt.

Not that it mattered. It still didn't work.

Default Curious....>

As to why you need to pre-heat prior to the start cycle... I have my AEM wideband just wired to a switched source and all works fine...

Default Don't know why but everytime I turn it on I have a "warm up" period...

Here is a quote from the manual...

Tap the Signal Harness RED wire to the switched power (+12V) and BLACK wire to the ground. The Wideband Controller has a built in auto-resetable 4A fuse, therefore, no additional in line fuse is required. The cold sensor warm up time is about 15-30 seconds. Wait 15 seconds for the datalogger serial data activation.

Default Actually, you should still fuse it. Someplace close to the connection point.

The fuse in the device won't do much if the wire to it shorts someplace.

Default I connected mine to the 12v at the coil pacs

it's a true switched 12v that doesn't "unload" when the starter's engaged. A couple of years this way, trouble free. You'll need to verify on your car... but IIRC it's the black/violet striped wire that hooks to connector #1, on all four pacs
