Ok....little wire snapped as I was changing plugs. Looks like a capacitor...any ideas?

Default Yup, that would be a capacitor, not sure how you would fix it unless.....
you can solder it back on.

Can't solder it..I'll need new one and splice wires. Wonder what this is storing electricity for?

Default It ensures voltage fluctuations caused by charging/discharging coils don't disrupt the rest of the
electrical system which could cause arc noises on the radio or worst, damage to electronic modules (such as the ECU)
