I noticed my neighbor covered all of his cars that are outside... better safe than sorry.<ul><li><a href="http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_100304_news_mt_st_helens_sunday_pm.36350c5d.ht ml">News Report</a></li></ul>

Default I know this should be a much smaller eruption, but I wouldn't go anywhere near there!

Those guys are almost always wrong.

Default Depends on the wind direction. Right now the wind would take it the other way>>>

It's about 80-90 miles south by southeast of us. The winds aloft are NW and should stay there through the week. That direction will take the ash across the Columbia River Gorge into central Oregon

I lived in Yakima, 60 miles east of St Helens,in 1980. It was like the end of the world. Turned the sun "off" at noon. Then it started raining dirt. Actually it was more like grey snow....A foot deep.

If it does come this way..Hide your car until the rain washes the ash off the roads. Do NOT drive in the ash. It will clog your airfilter almost immediatly. If it gets past your filter, your engine is toast.

Default I lived in Portland during the 1980 buildup and explosion.....

...People were going around town in masks and wrapping their air filters with toilet paper. Ash covered cars like grey snow.

Thank God I live in Florida now, and don't have to deal with that. Just hurricanes and junk.
