Ordered a computer yesterday for a "client" of mine . . .
I have one client left from when I was doing my own consulting, it is my brother-in-laws Architectural Firm. He needed another computer and a monitor. I had done some other work 2 weeks ago over 2 nights and never gave him an invoice. I told him instead of paying me to just buy me a new monitor.
Ordered this one:

It is the Dell 1800FP. I was going to get the 1900FP, but it is out of stock for 3+ weeks and I don't wanna wait that long. I have been using a 15" crappy monitor for about a year, as I gave my parents my good 19" Hitachi. (good son, I know. lol)
Anyway, I ordered everything yesterday and it has already gone to shipping today! Woohoo! It is ahead of schedule. I should have it next week. Wasn't supposed to arrive until the following week.
Now, my next step is to build a computer for this monitor.

That's funny, because Dell sent me a coupon for 15% off my next order, so I got myself an
NEC 17" LCD monitor. I've got this great computer armoire at home, but my current 19" trinitron is so big it takes up 2/3 of the desk space. I'm going to buy or fashion an arm to mount the flat screen on, so I can pivot it out of the way when it's not being used.
After the discount and by electing ground shipping, it cost about $425, and like yours, it shipped early, and should be at my house when I get home tonight! :-)

Did you order it after 3:30pm yesterday?
Dell knocked 10% off ALL monitors across the board at that time. I happened to be on the phone with them when it occured! lol
The 18" FlatPanel ended up costing less than $300 because I ordered the computer with it and then ordered 2 17" 772's seperately.
Funny thing is I also found out that Dell charges you more for certain monitors when you order them with the computer! I saved almost $40 on one of the 17" monitors by ordering it how I did. This is for an OptiPlex, not the Dimensions. Each line of computers has a different pricing structure.

Nice... I want to replace mine with that!
I have the MASSIVE 22" Trinitron at home. I don't think I could have a monitor be any bigger. The thing reminds me of my grandparents console TV, with the huge wood around it. The monitor is awesome, I love it, just massive.
My roomie has the 17, and I love it for it's size.
