Excellent drive. And if I would have remembered to put gas in my car I could have joined you the whole way. My car seemed to really respond to the other TT's like it was out playing with its buddies. Next time I think I will leave the pregnant wife at home bless her heart. Looking forward to getting together with you all again. Michael if you want to sell your 17" rims I might be interested in buying them.

Mike,
Sorry I didn't make it today. With it being so close to christmas I had lots of "honey-do's" to take care of. Hanging Christmas lights, etc. Also spent about 3-4 hours washing and waxing my new baby. It's 1 week old today so I gave it it's first good washing/waxing. Used Mothers California Gold Phase 1,2 & 3. Phase 1 is a pre=wax cleaner, Phase 2 is a sealer/glaze, Phase 3 is the Carnauba wax. Should be a good start and should last a while. Also spent over $100 on Autopia last night. Gonna spend a lot of time taking care of my baby I think! LOL
Anyway, I'm worn out. Sorry I didn't make it, hopefully you will do this again real soon and I can promise you I will make it next time!
Till then!

Default Thanks to all the Nor Cal TT gang...

for including me in the activities, especially Michael who let me ride shotgun at the front of the TT Express through the Marin headlands. I went down to Sausalito just to see the cars off and look at colors (I've got a deposit down on a 225Q at Sonnen in Marin) and met a great group of TT enthusiasts who shared their fun. That should tide me over for a while, but April/May seems a lot further away now!

Thanx again Mike for a great rally! We should definitely do the rest of the route after the holidays. That windy route was the BEST I've driven so far! Great felafel place too! ;-)

I just wanted to update you guys on some conversations that have begun on the SoCal TT Club website. A few days ago, I proposed that we do a happy hour sometime in January. Then, one of our members suggested that we do a drive to the mountains/Big Bear. And finally I suggested that we consider really expanding the scope of this and do a meeting in Monterey/Carmel, where some of the Central and Northern California folks could join us.

So far, this is very preliminary, but feel free to share any suggestions. The situation with my TT is still up in the air. It's been in the shop for the past week, and is expected to be there for another week. But I will continue to go forward and if I'm there, great. If not, everyone will still have fun.

Don't be shy about sharing ideas. Also, I've provided a link below to the Yahoo Clubs companion site to the SoCal Audi TT Club.

SoCal Audi TT Club

Thanks for an awesome day Mike!

The route you planned was incredible and you setting the pace was the icing...

I think next time we do it, we should start earlier in the day. Even though I bailed I was only home at 5pm when it was pretty much dark already.

We could start at 9am with the windy road, do lunch at 11:30 - 12:00 noon and then have plenty of time for the low lands route.

I will also try to put together a route through the peninsula mountains that we can try sometime in Feb or March.

Nonetheless, excellent organization, a route that is hard to beat and a phantastic crowd that really knows how to have a good time.

Ralph
