Default poly dogbone mount install - i'm curious about the circular bushing part

do i use the circular bushing? if i do, how do I remove the OEM part from the angled black metal part? it seems to be attached on one side- do i take this off? how?

also - does the angled black piece just fit between the engine and the new bushing, if the new bushing is used?

(posting via proxy- thanks in advance for your help)

Do not use the round piece, they are supposedly prone to failure.

Just the 2 oval's. Replace in the same fashion as the stock ones are mounted...

Default hey steve... didn't you just use one bushing at one time?

was it the center one or the big end one?

I'd love to get a set but don't want any extra vibes... so maybe using just one is a good compromise?

Default I've tried all combos... 3, 2, & 1....

3 was kinda vibrationy...a little at idle, but mostly when I was just starting off under 1.5K, the engine felt shakey (kinda when it's about to die)..

2 (round one, and other end piece) was a little better, but still kinda vibrated...

1 (what i'm running now), is just the end piece (took out the round one), and it feels stock for the most part... not as stiff, and shifting isn't as "crisp", but it doesn't vibrate much, and I do alot of traffic stop-n-go driving, so that kinda sucked

Default There's really not that much in the way of extra vibrations, or maybe I've gotten used to it...

there is more noise when pulling away from a stop. As you ease out the clutch it sounds like you're lugging the engine and there's more vibration. Also at the top end as you get towards redline the engine noise is louder. Just sitting and idling there's a bit more vibration thru the steering wheel but nothing harsh. The install is easy enough that you might as well put both in, drive it for a week and then if its too much pull one out.

What are the advantages of a new dogbone mount?

Default they're poly, so they are stiffer... >>>>

for me, I putting the car was less notchy (I have a Dieselgeek Race), and less slop in the engine the cars pickup seemed more responsive? You figure your engine is moving back and forth less, so power is more effectively transfered to the tranny and stuff... (that's my guess) =o)
