1. I need a source of power that will be on at all times.. something inside.. preferably under the drivers side dash.

2. I need a source of power that will be on only when the key is in and turned..

I used to have #1 hooked to the dome light fuse, but that could cause a world of hurt and I'd prefer not to have that.

I used to have #2 hooked to the yellow post under the dash, but that caused some problems when the damn nut came loose.. Theres gotta be a better place to put it then that.

I'll try out the behind-the-fuses thing.. I whole-heartedly agree with your statement that its best not to use the live +12v terminals.. those are nasty..
