Problem With overheat warning this morning>>>
About two miles from home this morning temp sensor maxed out and I got over heat warning. Having checked coolant level a couble of days ago I was sure level wasn't low, seeing no steam I continued driving with as few revs as posible. After two miles of driving temp gauge return to normal and warning stopped. Checked level when I got to wark and it was fine. Only thing I could think was thermostat was stuck.

I had the same thing just the other day although it didnt max out, but it was way higher than usual for a short period of time, interesting.

Absolutely could with that many miles! I've seen pictures of them on VWVortex with cracked/split
water pump impellers on cars with only 60k miles. I've got 53k on mine and it's scares the crap out of me. When I change all that stuff I'm going to use the ECS kit that comes with a metal impeller on the water pump, instead of the stock plastic piece of junk.
