Default Question for 225hp owners please......

I'm planning on buying a 3.2, but say I do some 'minimal' mods to a 225hp? Say Intake, chip(? or other suggestions), and exhaust.

How would that stack up to 3.2? 0-60, 1/4 mile etc?

It seems the 225 is favored on the boards here, so I thought I'd kick around the idea before I buy. As always, thanks in advance everyone...

Default A 225 is a much better platform for modding...>>

Big gains with the mods you mentioned. Should put you in the 280 hp range. The OTHER big benefit is you can only get them in a 6 speed!

Default I think the potential of the 225 is what everyone talks about>>>>

with mods....the 3.2, is a great motor, but to achieve the 225 potential, you would have to throw big $$$ at the 3.2..or a supercharger....

Plus the DSG does not have a track record yet with mods.....especially with big HP...

Just my opinion....

We went to the strip a few months back...and I was faster every time!!! who knew? it surprized me, but I know I was abusing my car alot more.. (6k launches, esp off)

have you noticed any slight surging or power high/low spikes since your DB install?

Default 225s seem to be better suited to folks that want to mod...

that said the 3.2 is really set up quite nicely out of the box. HP is below what you'll get with a chipped 225 but the delivery is very smooth and there's torque everywhere with the 3.2 motor, no turbo lag. Also, the 3.2 has much improved brakes (rotors are I think 2mm larger than Stoptechs) and the suspension felt very similar to my TT with Eibach springs and Bilstein Sport shocks. So the 3.2 is upgraded from the 225 in many of the areas that people mod the 225 (more power, better suspension and brakes) but with the big advantage of still having a warranty.
