Default Quick question about jack stand placement for anyone trolling on a beautiful Labor Day

I'm trying to bolt this exhaust on and am really at a loss for where to safely put these jack stands. Ideally, I'm thinking of jacking up just one side of the car and working on it from that way, rather than say, jacking up the entire back.

On the rear, I know the suspension arms are a popular place, but with my stands placed at the joint of the arms, they seem to only contact the outer corners of the arms because of the width of the piece. Is it safe to put a jack stand on the black metal bracket that is over the rear diff to guard it? That piece seems pretty solid... The issue here is with the width of the fork on the jack stand... I realise the arm is wider closer to the wheel, but as the suspension compresses, the stand is only supporting the car on the very edge of the fork.

On the front end, there's the jack pad, but then where do people use a jack stand? Most pictures I've found are broken... I'll continue searching the forums, but as it stands right now, my car is out on the driveway begging for exhaust.

Default I usually put the fronts on the control arm near the wheel. I wouldn't put it on the

bracket in the rear, that wasn't meant to take the weight of the rear end. Try to find a spot on the rear arm, it doesn't have to be right at the joint. When I use stands on the rear they are about 4 inches or so to the rear of the joint.

Default I'm just sportin Rich's old 225 exhaust...

just enough to get that dual look... I got the valence and TTDA installed... the 225 exhaust is just taking the place of something bigger and better soon.

That is, unless I get a motorcycle.

Default How about driving the front up on ramps, then using jackstand on the rear susp arms?

I did this with my previous ride (VW New Beetle) with the same basic floorpan.

When I've had my tires replaced I've noticed several places using an arrangement where pads lift the car at 4 places along the pinch seams. But I don't know how you'd do that at home. Most jackstands wouldn't play well with the pinch seams.

You'll need low profile ramps. Standard Ramps don't work for the TT

Default I've got a set myself, but most of the time they sit in the corner of the garage

The ramps don't provide enough height compared to jackstands.
