Default rear license plate bulb

Both my rear bulbs went out, but when I slam trunk lid, one or the other goes on. Does anyone know how to replace the bulbs. I would like to at least take a look inside the housing to see if there is a loose connection, or tighten the bulbs.
I am afraid to just pry the black rim holding the bulbs in case I might break the rims.
thanks

Default push the lense/holder out towards the side of the car the bulb is on...

if you look at it, there's two bulbs and a black part in the middle. push the holders away from the center piece... a slotted screwdriver might help but you can do it with your hands too.

if you just pull on it, like you're afraid to do, you will break it... I've broken one of mine though I was successful in superglueing it back together.

If you push it out the right way like I described, it will release without much effort.
