Remember my '30 AllRoads' post...well an update
went over to the Hyatt Regency in Reston...where the other day I reported seeing 30 brand new-not-out-of-the-wrappers 2.7 turbo AllRoads. Wel,l ran into those who ran what is going on...AoA decided that its retailers needed to be more knowledgable about the Audi products...so 30 AllRoads (remember not to be released until Nov, 00) were shipped from Germany directly to the hotel...not even preped, labeled or whatever. So a team of guys spent all day today stripping off plastic, cleaning cars, putting Michigan tags on, and adding various Audi accessories. Tomorrow...they have set up 3 courses..one paved and two for cross country...one requiring suspension system to be at full height (around 8" ground clearance) and everyone attending program can go out in their individual AllRoad and go at it. When finished here the show goes to MidWest and then to CA. Oh yes..the 30 AllRoads go to auction when the whole thing is over.
And no, I did not let the opportunity go by without a DV discussion. Problem is known, but had to do the OEM pos vs Bailey anyway.
BTW sat in AllRoad, looked under hood and opened back hatch...very nicely finished, comfortable and damn didn't have a phillip screw driver to remove cover to see what model DV...BUT was told it is NOT the 'G' or 'H'...something new...
That's my jollies for Sunday...

Attended an Audi Drive day at Millbrook Proving Ground here in the UK today. Was driven around an extremely demanding course in a 2.7 turbo Allroad, WOW! What a machine! Apparently Audi made such a good job of the 4WD/traction system, that the car is putting some full-on 4x4 vehicles to shame!
