remote operation

Does anybody else here get annoyed by the short range of the keyless entry system. I have to be within 20 feet or so before the remote key will work, the panic button would not be of much use at this close range. A friend of mine has a new Passat and the remote works on it from at least 100 feet away. Any input appreciated.

Sounds silly but extend key and place it on your forehead. Your body will be extra antenna
