satelite radio in TT ?
Anyone have one of the new satelite radios installed in your TT ?? I'm trying to figure out if I can get one installed without looking like its kludged in. Hate to screw up a great looking interior. I think the display is green - which would look way out of place, so I'd need to hide it somehow. I have a few ideas, but am wondering if anyone else has done this.

very few people have satellite radio now because it hasn't gone "live" yet...
a professional installer will make it look good, but the "colors" will be different from the audi red...i have an alpine head unit, and it looks great even with a different color scheme...i will be purchasing a new alpine unit in the next month with xm radio capabilities and i'm sure my installer will make it look good (but, again, the color scheme will be different from the audi red).
btw, xm is scheduled to begin broadcasting in san diego and dallas (or was it houston? too early to remember or check) in 2 weeks. the rest of the country by thanksgiving.

Yeah but have you seen the stocks?
Sirius is at 6.20 and XMSR is @ 9.00 this moring, both look like a good buy considering they are a quater from full launch.
They both need 4 million subsribers to get to breakeven, and in one year there are 28 million car radios sold in the U.S. So 14% of the yearly sales or 2.7% of the sales of the next 5 years. Sounds good to me.
It's too bad Audi/VW doesn't have a a contact with either company.

Yeah but you can look at DISH as the other end of the spectrum (10X it's 10/98 price)
GSTRF, had a Bad business model. Sat Telephones that cost $7 a minute and they need 20+ Sats to make the bussiness work.
DISH on the other hand has a similar type of bussiness model as XMSR and SIRI except they have competiton, XM and Sirius don't. (except terestrial radio)
Sat Radio is a closer comparison to Cable TV than Sat TV, and that is the main difference. Also having a FCC mandated Duopoly isin't bad either.

Both......
Well considering they will theoretically split the market 50/50, their market caps should be the same. The answer is both.
Sirius is a cheaper buy (lower market cap too) and will have a larger kick once they sign, Daimler Chrysler and Ford to installment contracts.
Both compaies are very impressive, and to hold them over the next 5-10 years is my plan.
Think of it as a combo of owning a company that is a combo of MSFT (Monopoly Status) DISH (Sat Co.) and AOL TimeWarner (Leaders in a very big national broadcasting industry) I would by all of them in their early stages.
But that's just my opinion.
