This seems like a good deal on ebay. Should I pull the trigger on this B&M short shifter ->

Will it work on a 2002 Quattro? The ebay description says 2000-2001. But I checked TTStuff, and they use the same part number for 2000-2003 Quattro TTs.

B&M Shifter on ebay

Think it's a little harder to install than the Dieselgeek. DG Race is the same price.

Is one better than the other? The B&M retails for around $260.

Default ECS has them for $180

make sure it's the "new model" where you can use your stock shifter, or else you have to go aftermarket w/ screws (like momo). I was thinking of getting this also (already hve DG Race), but I hear it's a pain to install. The $100 DG is REALLY EASY to install and works great!

ECS B&M

Around here I think the preference is the DG.

Default depends on what you want...

the dg just replaces the linkage plate. this results in a shorter throw while retaining the stock shifter dimensions. I believe the B&M shifter is of different dimensions than the stock shifter, thus changing the throw and angle by which you use the shifter. combining the two would probably result in very short shifting. I seem to remember someone on this forum who had both.

I like the dg race i have, but I would like a shorter throw still. I will probably end up modding the original shift linkage plate to get the throw I want so I can retain the stock shifter.
