Semi-OT - Can the porsche top cleaner and protectant be used on (marine) sunbrella material
finally got my Tequipment Top Shampoo+condioner for the TT's top. Was wondering if it can be used on marine top sunbrella material. Our boat top is a little dirty - never cleaned in 2 years.
figured I'd try the teq stuff out on boat top. Anyone try it, or is there a better product for the boat

Well since I work with a company that makes marine enclosures...
the guys here at barrett enclosures recommend using Mermaids Vinyl and Canvas cleaner to clean sunbrella. The problem is that you might end up washing out the water resistant coating on the sunbrella and the porsche top cleaner might be formulated for different water resistant coatings. Any marine supply store will carry it.

Thanks for the reply..went to sunbrella's site..it said any cleaning will remove the water-repellent
...properties .. They suggested putting on a coat of some sort of water repellant to maintain it after washing. They said a 'natural soap' to clean. I have no idea what that was. Then follow with a protectant sunbrella cleaning
Figured that the porsche cleaner and protectant would work. Just don't want to have thousands of chemicals around, if I can help it. If it can perform double duty. Great.
I didn't know that you could machine wash sunbrella. (I'm not going to). Pretty cool.
