Default Scotchgard + TTR fabric top...

I went to the dealer to pick up my car and while there asked the parts advisor if he had any products he'd recommend using on the fabric top as a protectant/water repellant? He said Audi didn't produce any such product and he didn't have any other suggestion other than that Porsche sold a cleaner and preservant for fabric tops.

Knowing that Porsche doesn't produce the product they sell I'm assuming 3M Scotchgard would work as a protectant and water repellant. Anyone use this on their fabric tops?

P.S. I know of Raggtopp and other such products but none are available locally and I really don't feel like paying shipping costs and waiting a week to get the stuff.

Default Go to Porsche dealer and buy their product...>>

Or BMW dealer for their product.

I do not believe Scotchguard is the right product to use.

BTW, I believe I have seen an Audi brochure for all kinds of wax and preservative products. I know that Sonnen in Marin stocks some of the products. They are probably similar to whatever Porsche and BMW use, just packaged for Audi.

Why don't you think "Scotchgard" is the right product? Experiences?

If you don't want to have it shipped, West Marine and similar boat supply places have it.
