Default Shift Points in a 3.2

I am a very inexperienced driver. I got my license last september (age 35). Took the audi driving experience in November. Picked up my TT 3.2 Coupe in December. I just recently went over 1000 miles and started to play in Sport mode. What a difference. It's almost like driving a different car.

I would like to play a little with manual shifting. My question is what are good shift points for city/highway driving? I know some of this is personal preference, but I'd like a starting point.

Thanx

Default It all depends on how "aggressively" you want to drive..

I usually shift at 3,000 RPM or higher (i.e. 3,500 or 4,000) to stay in the highest powerband, but you may not want to shift that high.

Personally, I like to stay at the max. torque range (b/w 2,800 RPM and 3,200 RPM) especially when in hilly San Francisco. If you're just cruising around town, you can shift quicker to save some gas..
