Default So last night, I installed the $45 MAF from the VW parts bin and here is my findings....

so far.

Last night I installed the MAF sensor that ends in a *A* (from the VW parts bin) vs the *D* that I am supposed to have. It was dinner time so I did not even get to start the car.

This morning, car would start for about 5 sec and cut out =-/

Schwing, Any ideas on what that resistor does? I saw that you mentioned that the Audi plug does not use it....but I am wondering...

Tonight I will throw it on the VAG to see what is up.

Do you have pics of the two parts next to one another for a comparison?

Default yeah, but I did not upload the pics so I dont have access to them....

The only *apparent* difference was the resistor. I am wondering if I *snip* or remove it, will that be the difference.

Default I have never looked at the MAF out of the housing, that's why I asked about pics. :)

Don't even know where the resistor of which you speak is located.

Default the MAF I purchased was an "E" with a resistor....if you look at our connector, you'll notice a

the fifth on missing.

Did you get p/n: 06A 906 461 A?

There wouldn't be any need to cut the resistor.
