what special tool do you need for a 2001 audi tt clutch job?

Are you thinking of the alignment tool? Not sure if this one is any good but a quick search on the net should find you what you are looking for.

You should get the proper Flywheel locking tool. If a Quattro, a crowbar to shoehorn the transmission back in is handy. Also, a pressure bleeder that can pressurize the clutch slave cylinder/throwout bearing to the proper pressure (per the service manual) is required.

Buy good tools from Zelenda, Baum or Snap On. Don't waste money on Chinese junk at Amazon.
