Default Steering rack = :(

Well, I got the classic steering whine and really tough steering when not moving. Checked fluid levels and I noticed it had a lot of air bubbles but level looked good. Last year, I had the same problem in the cold, but some more fluid helped and it was fine until now. I took it into a shop thinking it was the rack but for now they're just thinking I have leaks in the lines so they're going to flush it fix the leaks and they're saying the problem should be solved. Does anyone think it may still be the rack? They said they checked it and it looked good.

Default Mine has had a bit of whine this winter too--------->

Finally got around to checking it and found the level to be a bit below the min. I bought some pentosin fluid and topped it off (maybe one or two ounces ) and it made a big difference. I think the cars are getting old enough to need a hydraulic fluid flush and replacement. Even power steering fluid can't last forever. Next time I'm under the car I plan to drain and refill the power steering.

Default Mine was low as well and i started to feel it...

I didn't hear it as much as felt it. Fluid was low and it was topped off. I was told the seal around the pressure sensor has a slow leak. I will top it off until I can take care of it. Just another story.
