Strange vibration at 3000 RPM, what is it?
My 225TTC seems to have developed (or I never noticed it before) an interesting vibration at around 3000 RPM in 4th or above but only with my foot off the gas. As soon as you give it the slightest bit of gas again it goes away. It's a low throbbing/resonant vibration that I can feel through the seat as well as hear.
Anyone else notice this? My best guess is that it's coming from somewhere in the exhaust system. It wouldn't bother me if I knew what it was.

I hear it too when coasting down while in gear.
I think it's what I've always referred to as back pressure, though I don't know if that's the right term.

If it's just about 3000 in 4-5 & 6 during 'coast', I agree with exhaust...
Maybe something loose like a shield in the exhaust system? Can you get it in neutral or lower gears even if playing with gas pedal?
If you coast down from say 4000 in 4th when does it come in and when does it stop (rpms)? Try that in 5th also. Same rpms? If yes, you have probably narrowed it to engine system and not driveline or chassis.

Its exhaust resonance....
barely noticeable with stock, more noticable with the quiet aftermarket exhausts, and pretty darn obvious with louder aftermarket pipes. If I lift off throttle at 3k-4K, the resonance from my straight-center-pipe Milltek exhaust is pretty obvious inside the cabin.
You don't need to worry, its normal.
