Default way too much $$ for those resulting gains. >>

If I needed an engine rebuild (bearing job) I would do it. That is if I'd even consider rebuilding a worn 1.8 TT....when the time comes, that is

Default When Dahlback builds it >>>

You know its going to be expensive :P

You can get a new, built 2.2L bottom end for ~5k.....

You can get a 2L crank for ~900, and pistons for ~700, plus machine work. Its not *that* bad....

LOL, all you have to do is drop that 5K bottom end in?

Like I said, dont forget Dahlback will always be waaaay more $$. Like 3x as much.

Default ah. I misread. But also, the labor of removing / refitting motor plus fixing the head >>

that has warped. All in all....even without involving the little northern reindeer I'd be in deep. Now if I got another 60whp at 5K....well then.....my willpower would be tested

I have a buddy who said he got around 40-50 crank hp on a 2L motor over the 1.8 on his engine dyno..... That 2.2L would be a total torque monster.....

Default 2.2 sounds sweet >>>

I was impressed by driving a chipped 2.7 S4. Even at 5psi she was awesome in the lower rpm's. I can imagine feeling her under big turbo boost. Yes... a 2.2 would be nice. But with 2.0 at 40-50crank (or ~ 30-35 whp) it's cost to giggle ratio is unfavorable. But now.....if those power figures could be replicated.....hmmmmm : ).
Honey!!!...... My Meds!

I figured he had to bore it cause crank alone won't do it, hence the :confusion:
