Default Something like when you don't drive hard all the time the car

sets WOT at a 75% throttle blade opening instead of 100%... and the re-alignment procedure sets it back to WOT = 100% open.

stupid drive by wire

Default not sure and

I you can either set it via a vag-com or I think you can put the key in and turn it to 'on' without starting the car for 3 minutes when the car is cold and that resets it...

or something like that!

maybe someone else will chime in

Default Here you go:

This is a copy of a thread I saved.

The most common use for the Basic Settings function is to recalibrate the Throttle Body (sort of like having a Chiropractor do an "adjustment" on the engine).

Throttle Body Alignment:

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Measuring Blocks - 08]
Group 060 (may be Group 098 on cable-throttle cars)
[Go!]
[Switch to basic settings]

Once you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB alignment is being done as soon as you switch to basic settings. You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds, then press the [Switch to meas blocks] button and you're all set.

Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!

Default you need to be IN basic setting, you just wrote instructions for only looking at the throttle

position.

Here's the way you're supposed to do it:
Select Engine
then Basic Setting
then Group 060
Press GO.
Then you'll see the ADP run.

You don't need to being Measuring blocks at all. If you start in measuing blk, then switch to basic settings, you 'll still need to hit GO again in order to complete the adapt.

You can also open hood, leave driver door open, turn ignition to ON, you'll hear the tb adapting, leave car on for a few minutes, then you're done!

Default leave driver door open and hood opened, then turn ignition on...

you can hear the tb adapting, wait a few minutes before closing door and hood, and turning car on.
