Has anybody tinted their TT windows. When my 225Q Coupe(black/black) comes in I would like to tint the windows (have a feeling it will get pretty hot in the sun--Arizona). <p>The tint guy (just some guy at a tint store) said that you need about 3 days for the adhesive to dry before you can open the windows (and at least a month for the whole thing to cure properly)<p>The 1 inch automatic window drop when you open the door gives me some concern. The constant window movement might cause the tint to peel at the top. <p>I know there are a few BMW's which have the same window scheme (325IC), but haven't heard anything.<p>Any suggestions?<br>

Khan - had my windows tinted 2 weeks ago. So far, no problems. I've used the same company (Arizona Upholstery & Tint Operations (520) 623-9799) on my last 6 cars and have been pretty happy with their work. They disabled the auto windows while installing the tint by tripping the door lock. The auto windows only move about 1/4 of an inch anyway. The tint did help the A/C - I've got a black/gray 180fwd and live in Tucson. It also complimented the car's look a little - as if that was possible. I also had my TT tinted 2 weeks ago. If your "tinter" is a pro, then you should have no problems with the automatic window drop. Basically, they need to take a heat gun to the windows anyway to shrink it to fit the compound curvature and that "cures" the edges enough such that it's not a concern. I had no problems with mine.<p>BTW: If you want to see some pics (and haven't already), just look back through the forum for my earlier posting with three shots of mine.
