Sumitomo HTR ZII,
What about the looks, noise and handling quality of them on the TTQR?

TIA

Default If I were you, I would call the Tire Rack and ask them, they test tires and know far nore than what

..you will learn from TT owners. I think some people will tell you a tire is good simply becuase they have them on thier car; I just don't think individual car owners are a good source if comparative tire information. I know for example that Kumho 712s have been very popular here because of the cost performance ratio. Yet I understand from Luke at the Tire Rack that Yokahama makes a similar tire for about the same money that performs better in a number of keep areas, lateral grip being one.

Default yup, check out the Yoko AVS ES100 in the same price range...

TR did a comparo of those against the 712 and against the HTRZ-II, and the Yoko was better. Results available on TR website. I'd choose the Yokos simply because it's much newer technology. The 712s are getting old.

IMO, Kumho takes the cake. I have had both and the Kumho was best by far.

Honestly the Kunho's are far inferior to the stock pilot's , the sidewall are alot less stiff.

Money. He is looking at the money factor. $200+ vs. around $100 or less.

Do you feel them to be softer in ride feel than the Pilot sports?

Default Yoko AVS ES100

I just put a set of the Yoko AVS ES100's on my TT and so far after a week they seem to be very nice. Handling is very good and they appear to be a nice tire for the money. I have not driven them in the wet as of today.

As far as the Sumi's go yes. But the Kumho's side wall is not so bad. Good bang for the buck.
