Default Voluntary coilpak replacement....follow-up to yesterday's post...> >

I had my 10k service today and also had arranged for the dealer to go ahead and do the ignition coilpak replacement. ...Turns out I already had the "good" coils...no need to replace. Everything else checked out fine. No scratches!

Yesterday's post

Default I thought so too, but Yokotta has an 02' and was told the same by a different dealer.

Time will tell, unless I find out the part numbers for the bad coils and check them myself.

Default part numbers...

The old coil PN ends with an "H". The updated coil PN ends with a "J". Some CPs have the PN written on their tops, so you can seen them after you take the plastic engine cover off. Some others don't, so you'd actually have to pull the CPs out. Since they're very fragile, you probably should just let them be and hope they don't fail :-)

Default More info....I confirmed I have the Hitachi 06B 905 115E coilpacks.

From what I've read here on the forum, these packs are OK. Lots of info on this subject to wade thru....as expected.
