So I was out at lunch today with a car enthusiast friend, and as we were leaving, I asked if I had shown him how ESP feels in the rain and stuff, and he said no. So we were in a large empty parking lot with rain coming down, and I figured then was as good a time as any to show him, so I put it in first, turned hard to the left and hit the gas. ESP performed flawlessly, not kicking in till I was pretty much sideways, and my friend thought it was cool.

Anyways, on to my problem...I've noticed this a few times after autocrossing, and it happened after this demonstration too. After taking this hard turn, I notice a whining noise when the engine is running at low RPMs. It doesn't do it at idle, but only from like 1k - 2k RPMs. It sounds a lot like when you're low on power steering fluid, but it always goes away after I shut off the car. It made this noise anytime I let the RPMs get that low until I made it back to the office (about a 10 minute trip.) BTW, it shouldn't be ESP because when I autocross, I turn it off, but it still makes the noise after some runs. Any ideas what it could be, and if I should worry about it?
