Default Well, now THAT was a weird feeling . . .

Back from ice cream run. Approach corner to turn left, no traffic coming other way (grin). Brake hard, downshift into 2nd, let out clutch. Nice smooth grab into gear, wail around corner. Still in second, go another 200 ft, and turn left onto my street. Come to stop sign, depress clutch pedal, downshift to 1st. Lift foot, clutch pedal . . . . . STAYS DOWN !! Can still get into 1st, so I limp to my driveway, pedal still on floor. Stop, neutral, engine running, reach down, lift up pedal - it has good spring action. Now can't get any gear, though, grinding noise if I try to force it, which I didn't. Argh ! Now on way back out to car with clutch pedal assembly diagram found by AW search (Thanks Steve) to see if I can determine where the cable let go. Uh, looks like dealer visit coming up tomorrow, flatbed and all. Life is full of surprises.

Default open up the hood and look at the shift linkage and see if anything is binding it up.

something could have fallen into that area and caused it to lock up.

Default Problem is Steve, it's not a cable..>>>

It's hydraulic. Could be a clutch slave cylinder failure (not unheard of). HoTTrod also had a failure at the pivot under the dash.. Check your brake fluid level anyway...

Default fluid level fine, and linkages inside firewall working OK . . .

I could rev-match and slide into 1st to pull all the way into the driveway (about 10 feet), accompanied by that all-too-familiar smell of burning clutch (all those autoxs, ya know . .), and more smoke than I ever like to see coming from under the hood. Funny, I just had the car at the dealer to check the clutch, I hought it was slipping, they said all was well. Ha, joke's on them ! Grumble. Guess I'm lucky it happened here. THX

Default Same thing happened when my 1st clutch blow out,

Same scenario, downshifting then try next gear and no go. The clutch melted to the flywheel or something they said. Hopefully not, but the clutch is covered by warranty.
