Default dood you have an 03?

how hard was it to get past the chastity belt? My old x-xhip is sitting in my old ecu and I know my GIAC guy is good about giving you the program on a new car if you trade the old ecu.

Default Chastity belt is easy. The "bolts" can either get slotted and screwed out as I understand it or

You can have them drilled out and replaced with screws I believe. Call AWE.

I think that you'll really like the new GIAC chip.

Default I don't for one good reason. It can be worse...

I almost went revo until I found out that you get THEIR factory code. So "stock" Revo mode will always be the factory code that Revo loads, on... NOT the most recent, which may have fixes or updates in it to address issues.

However, with either a socketed GIAC, or in your case and most for ease IBE, when you either put in your stock chip or you switch to it through IBE, the car can run the most recent "stock" software from the dealer. As a dealer I would get more suspicious if I kept vagging the car and there was older software than I had previously loaded on there.

Furthermore, with REVO if the dealer decides to flash you chip at all, if they don't see anything funny... your REVO will be overwritten, and you will need to go get it reprogrammed.

That said, if you want to go REVO, Oldschool Industries is a good place in NJ.

Default I hear you on all accounts

good points, plus Revo is still too new to feel comfortable with. Personally I just don't something that is visably f'd with. Even if the dealer where suspicious, there is nothing they could so (so we are told) to prove anything was done.

Default Chastity belt is NOT easy.

Took a professional with the right tools and some sweat and aggravation to get mine off. The one on my TT, anyway ; )

Not to say it can't be done by someone who knows what they're doing, but I certainly wouldn't have wanted to do that by myself. He also was able to put it back on fairly seamlessly, so a dealer wouldn't suspect anything by its looks. It uses shear bolts (sp?), which actually get sheared off when your installing them, to make them more tamper proof. That's why you need a dremel tool to get them off.

HTH,

Rich
