Default What a boost!

Aaron, formerly of Imperial Motorsports, REVO'ed my car today. After a fight with the Defi gauge which required an ECU reset and a flash back to stock, all went well with the burn. I've looked around for peak boost levels on stock and REVO'ed cars, and the consensus seems to be about 15 psi stock and 20-23 psi with REVO. I was a little startled to see this on the trip back:

Just to show that I think the gauge is working, here's a peak value before REVO was installed:

The only other "engine" mod I have is a Milltek exhaust, and Aaron set it up on low boost 9 and timing 4 (i.e., the basic SPS1 program). Has anyone else seen boost levels this high?

Thanks,
Chris

Default Actually...

It seemed to be boosting like that pretty early whenever it went that high. It actually felt a little stronger when the boost numbers were a little lower. May have been just me; I'll have to get a little more experience with it.

Default How dows Defi affect ECU? Not sure what you mean by having problems with the gauge and flashing the

ECU.

I had the gauge installed, since I'm mechanically disinclined, and the explanation Aaron offered was that it was working in a similar manner to the aftermarket radio problem as explained by VAG-COM here. The first burn was interrupted, so we had to reset the ECU and flash the car back to stock. Once the gauge was disconnected from its power source, the stock reflash and susequent burn of the REVO program went smoothly, except for a finicky SPS3 controller he was using to ensure the settings were correct. Thanks to Aaron for driving from Cincinnati to meet me halfway in Kentucky, BTW.
