Default What is this creak/clunk? >>>

It started during the days when the Northeast was in freeze phase, but it still seems to be there.

Everytime I start from a standstill there is a slight creaky clunk (more like a click) coming from somewhere under the car and seems like from the front.

Initially I thought that the pads may be sticking and now I am thinking sway bar busings.

Any ideas? This is a 2004 TT 3.2.

Tx.

Default I have a VF Trans mount and stock motor mounts >>>

I could check the bolts on the VF mount and maybe even switch back to the stocker for diagnosis.

Car has 27K on it so I dont suppose the motor mounts could be shot? Besides, there is no vibration or anything ... car runs smooth.

Thanks for the tip ... will try that out.

Default I had a similar problem. Local performance shop did a "nut and bolt" tightening everything on the

car. This fixed the problem, but obviously I have no clue which bolt was the culprite.

Default This is a big suspect as that was an issue on my 02 225Q too >>>

Ended up replacing the stockers with the sleeve for the 1mm smaller Powerflex ones. Worked out great.

Will check those and lube the stockers this weekend.
