Help-Any European MK2 Roadster owners out there? Question:
Can you measure the length of the AM/FM radio antenna on your roadster? Heres my problem.
I added the fixed mount Audi spoiler to mine (replacing the pop-up factory spoiler). Now, after you open the trunk/boot the antenna catches on the spoiler when you go to close it. If the antenna was 1 inch shorter it would clear.
In the spoiler instructions, it says if you have this problem with a "NAR antenna" that you should replace it with an "EAR antenna", but they give no part numbers. So I'm thinking NAR = North American Region and EAR = European-Asian Region. We apparently use a longer antenna in NA.
As usual, when talking to the parts guy at the Audi dealership about this I get a lot of blank looks.
If I unscrew the antenna from the car and measure from the base of the plastic (not the metal threads) to the tip it is 17 1/8 inches or approximately 43.4 CM long. If you can confirm for me that your antenna is noticeably shorter than mine and help me get a part number, I think I can solve my issue. Thanks

Do you use the radio?
If not then there are plenty of shorter antennas that not only look better but are also easier to source and would probably cost less - though the reception is marginally worse than stock.
