Ipod Dock Problem

Ive read a lot of complaints that the Bose system sounds like crap but I just discovered that when the Bose is playing the ipod sounds like that, but when listening to the exact same song on the cd player it sounds a lot more powerful night and day difference, did anyone notice this with their docks?

I already tried pumping the volume of the mp3 file on itunes and also remove the volume limit of the ipod for us Europeans, and nothing really works, all equalizers are turned off btw, so any advice on how to make the ipod dock sound better please post it...

haven't tried the dock, but I've noticed there is a difference between

the sound on the radio versus the SD cards. Radio doesn't seem to have much bass, where the mp3s on the SD cards do.

It is an acknowleged problem with the iPod dock. I used mp3gain to raise the decible level to 91-92 on my mp3 files and it works fine. Audi told me they were aware of the problem and would contact me when it was fixed.
