My 08 TT came with ContiSport3 tires. Pretty nice except they didn't last too long.

Decided to go with Michelin PS2 this time. I immediately noticed a reduction in tram-lining as well as noise. One non-performance related plus is that the rim protection is much better than the ContiSport3.

The hard part is the cost... Tire prices seem to have gone through the roof and these 19" PS2 are costly.

Good to know... Hopefully prices will drop with this economy.... I doubt it though.

Default what precisely do you mean by better rim protection?

i've got Conti3's, and I've had two mysterious scrapes appear on the outer edge of my 19" five spoke TTS wheels. i've been ultra careful with avoiding curbs and have no idea how the scrapes happened. any ideas on what might be happening?

Default Do you take the car to a car wash?

Most car washes have rails to guide the car, and can result in damage especially when the car is initially driven in.

As for better rim protection, the PS2 looks to have a slightly larger and longer rubber ridge around the rim. My ContiSport3 was flush with the rim, the PS2 rubber extends maybe 1/8" past the rim. It's not much, but when parallel parking it could save your bacon.
