k&n air filter problem??
I just came back from an Audi Dealership asking for advice about after-market air filters. One of the mechanics advice was not to install the K&N Filter because it has oil on it. His reason was that he has repaired too many sensors because the K&N has oil. Has this every happened to anyone yet? Also, is there a DRY after-market air filter I can use?

Its a long time big debate..
Many have used them with no probs. Some had probs but may have been they put too much oil on when they cleaned it. Ive had it on 2 cars and no probs. So take it with a grain of salt. There are dry ones out there.

I don't trust anybody. If you've seen TTs in crashes, personally,
Then you know the component parts are cheap crap. You don't get killed when you hit a deer but it's obvious that all the 'parts' came from the lowest bidder.
If you've seen the diverter valve and the air filter, and the chip, you might be able to make an informed decision.
Personally, if you look at these OEM parts, you will certainly see the difference.
The current filter on the TT is ok. And in today's culture - let the next guy worry about it.
For me, I replaced the filter on my Mk-I but don't really see the need on the Mk-II.
But the Mk-I was a turbo and I think I saw a difference with my K&N.
BTW, when I bought the '08 I got letters from all the managers at the dealership that they would kiss my *** if I had any concerns.
Ok. I've got wind noise at 75 and beyond. Mr. Personality, the service manager, says, "We can't exceed the speed limit".
Give me a break. Could the service rep be a little morspecific on his stats?
Ok, I'll give you this. The dealer told me the diaphram on my diverter valve (Stratmosphere) was leaking. I didn't bother to tell him that the valve doesn't have a diaphram.
You have to trust yourself.
