Tint - 35% or 20%? 35 looks good on USP's Ibis ..
My silver 3.2 should be arriving at the dealers next week. Black interior. I was planning on going with the 20% but after looking at USP's 35% may be plenty. Any thoughts?

I'm in the same boat...
Got the same car and interior arriving sometime next month. I was thinking 20 to 25%, but after those pics, I'm wondering if 35 is the way to go. I think 35% is also legal.

State laws vary - I think even 35 is pushing it in California.
Other states, like were I live, don't specifiy as long as the tint can't be considered a safety issue - with the exception of the windshield, of course.

the pics are a little misleading. It's lighter than it appears and looks great...
you should get away with 35%. As a rule of thumb, if you ever get pulled over for a traffic violation, always put on your interior lights. Everything gets illuminated even with dark tints and it gives you one thing less to worry about when the cop crawls up to your car.

I think below 35%ish is legal in AZ? (whoops)
I saw an A4, and all i could see was BARE outlines of the interior. But then again, where are you going to get sunshine about 340 days of the year and temps from 120 - 60 degrees??

Ive had both 35% and 20% 3M Smoked tint on my 2 former silver A6's, the darker %20 got more tickets.
I'd go for the lighter 35% if I had to get tint again. Im over tint now. In this car I want to be seen
I had 3 tint tickets in Chicago with the 35%. The 20% got three tims the tint tickets (front tinting is illegal in Chicago) Cops notice the darker tint far more, on a silver car.
Especially with a black interior, the 35% will look even darker, from the outside. With 20% at night or when it rains, the outside will look completely black. With 35% you at least get a silhouette of what's in the car. If youre new to tint, consider your evening drives, this car has a few blind spots as it is, the tint will further add to that blind site curve.
The lower the number the less light thats let in hence "darker" (for those who don't know tint).
Cheers.

go 35 with black interior
I would go with the 35. It's plenty dark, and it keeps alot of heat out. And most importantly you won't have to worry about cops. My wife has 20 on her car with black interior and it looks very dark.

Thanks, all. I am going with the 35% based on comments ....
Utah highway patrol folks don't like me anyway so I certainly don't want to have the 20% - which will give them more reason to be pissed off.
