Default Not bad for the base. After configuration though...my car would have been 56+

Kinda hard to not go S5 IMO.

Or a Cayman S with a few miles on it, CPO.

Default The TT has some inherent practicality that gets lost with the Cayman

I just got back from a 2200 mile roadtrip with my mk1 and came to the conclusion that it would be hard to replace with a Cayman. We had the hatch pretty well stuffed with clothes, camera gear, tools and spares (maybe could skip those with a Cayman It's always comfortable on long hauls and when you get to the destination (lots of twisty mountain passes) it's alot of fun to drive. Economy was 27mpg for the trip, lots of highway driving. And there were a few spots where the road was under construction so a few miles of gravel and dirt roads to traverse.

Even with two trunks I'm not sure the Cayman could swallow all of the bulky items and I don't know how the ground clearance compares either. I do know that I can go on long road trips like this without thinking twice about the types of conditions I might encounter.

Default ... and don't forget AWD...

... Try taking a Cayman to the slopes loaded with snowboard gear. Don't get me wrong the Cayman is a fantastic sports car. And in some respects (but not all) better than the TT handling-wise. But it really is a second car for anyone with an active lifestyle.

For me the TT is a pretty amazing combination of focused small sports coupe, luxury car and mini-SUV (if it has quattro). All that and it gets great gas mileage too.

Default Yup, the practical sports coupe . . .

. . . not sports car (that would be the Cayman, in my view). Your point about not having to worry about any conditions is the clincher, especially for snowbelt types like me. Part of the joy of motoring is appreciating your car without having undue anxiety over it.

Default I haven't had mine in the snow but have had it essentially offroading

I don't think I'd drive a Cayman into a place like Monument Valley, didn't think twice about it with the TT. It is a workhorse.

Default It's no problem. I was just thinking most people won't get much...

...off a TT-S right now.
