Post-download and Java decompression, be reminded to have the 2 folders and 2 files at the root of the drive (best alone on the drive/card/stick) and to have the drive MSDOS FAT32 formatted (can be done from a Mac, again just note the format type).
See my link above for some helpful in-car photo's of installation progress.

Went into coworkers office and downloaded it on his computer. All good now. Got both cars S3 and TT updated last night. Thanks to all for assistance.

Anyone still have the map files?
I know this is an old thread, but we just got a 2016 TTS and the maps have not been updated. Does anyone by chance have the most recent map files for the 2016MY and are willing to share??
I can setup a DropBox or something if needed.
I was hoping to download the updates from the MyAudi site but unfortunately it turns out they shut down that feature a few months ago.
Thanks in advance!

I still have them from July 2019. PM me.

if your licence has expired (presumably, being a 2016 model), no map update will be accepted by the system

Until the new My Audi site launched in Q2 2021, you can ask your dealer to order the NAV upgrade on SD for you. Refer them to 2037809/6
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...76421-0001.pdf
If the production date is 2 1/2 years old, you'll need to purchase an activate code to get the latest, but according to TSB, you are entitled to the last update that was available at the production date + 2 1/2 years.
The MIB2+ cars get the updates for 5 years, and MIB3 for 10 years.

The interesting thing is the TSB has no mention on updating the maps for the Mk3 TT which has no OTA update capability. This also conflicts the information on the myAudi website https://www.audiusa.com/myaudi/apps/vehicle-functions which says:
So do we call Audi Customer Experience or do we have the dealer do the update as a Warranty Service at No Charge.
Map updates
Audi owners of certain 2017 models and all 2018 or newer model vehicles should attempt to update their maps OTA (Over the Air) within the vehicle. Those owners without in-vehicle OTA capabilities should contact the Audi Customer Experience Center at 1-800-822-2834 (800-822-AUDI).So do we call Audi Customer Experience or do we have the dealer do the update as a Warranty Service at No Charge.

It will come back, but not until the launch of My Audi 2.0, which looks to have been delayed until 2021. Until then, the dealer will take care of it for you including ordering the SD card.
