Hi folks, first time Audi owner here looking for help with a really silly question: can anyone point me to a tow hook mount for my front license plate? Every one (less than $50) I look at says they're only good for 2015-2017 TT RS. I don't really want to spend $90-100 for a front plate mount unless there's something unique about the Mk3 design that requires it (interference with PDC, perhaps?).
I have this one from a place in BC and I like it. Here is my white TT beside a nardo TTRS with a tow hook plate. My plate does not not obscure the sensors.
The best front plate option for this car is the OEM option, which positions the plate symmetrically in the center of the car's bow where it blends in with the factory design as much as possible without blocking any sensors or creating any aero or pedestrian safety issues such as a tow hook mount would.
In my state (which is a front plate state), dealers are required to provide you with a legal way to display your plates when they sell you a road-legal motor vehicle. Your state's laws may differ but if it were me here in Minnesota, I would simply ask at delivery for them to put your plate on for you using the method authorized by Audi.
