Connection Problem!!!
When I connect to my 98 A6 I always recieve an error: incorrect com port, interface not in, ignition off, k-line stuck. I have check all the fuses, the com port is set to com 1(which is correct), and have the igntion on.
I tried connecting it to a friends 01 A4 and it works fine. I've had it working in the past. I'm using the latest version of the software.
I'm confident that the problem is in the car, since it worked before and on another car. Anyone change something on their car to fix this problem.

If it works from the same PC on another car,
then the problem is this car. The two most common things would be:
* No power (+12V) available on Pin 16 of the car's diagnostic socket
* An issue with the radio. See the link below.

damn, I'm having the same type of problem...

"It says com port status:OK .."interface status:5-Modem!" I pressed save then when I go into the engine catagory it says : Interface Status=5, Interface not ready! Possible reasons : incorrect COM port selected, interface not plugged in, ignition not turned on, K line Stuck"
Com 5 most likely is a modem. Go into windows device manager and see what com ports you have. also dissable any IR device. than go back to Vag-Com and select one of the ports you found in device manager. (usually com 1 or 2)
