Help with a TT code please
Hi,
I have a VAG-COM for my S4 and my friend has an Audi TT - I think it's a 2004?. Anyways his car was lighting up his ABS and ESP lights when he would accelerate hard. I have done a search and found very limited help on the subject.
Here is the code:
Wednesday,12,September,2007,16:31:19:37907
VAG-COM Version: Release 704.1
Address 03: ABS Brakes
Control Module Part Number: 8N0 907 379 E
Component and/or Version: ESP 20 CAN V005
Software Coding: 18446
Work Shop Code: WSC 01236
1 Fault Found:
01279 - Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor (G251)
27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Now, I even read someone say VAG COM told them it was the longitudinal sensor but the dealer replaced the lateral sensor and then everything was fixed. I got very concerned when I read that, as they also went on to say that accelerometer codes from VAG COM aren't reliable- is this true? Is anyone able to tell me definitively what I need to do in order to fix the code? VAG COM won't pick up the code unless the lights are active, and they reset and turn off when the car gets restarted so you have to go out and make the lights come on, then hook up VAG COM before you turn off the car.
Is the only possible course of action to replace the sensor and see if it indeed is the longitudinal sensor?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
