Default Mmi issue. Please help

So I have a 2008 audi A6 and my MMI has been acting up. When I turn the car off and walk away for a few mins and come back, and unlock the doors or open a door or trunk the MMI turns on by itself blaring the radio on some random station. I tried resetting the system, new battery etc. I have noticed that everything seems to reset when it powers completely down. I have tried turning the startup volume settings all the way down but they are turned back up by themselves once the car cycles down after a few mins. What is going on lol?

MMI 2G. Either MMI radio (plus) or MMI navigation (plus). Could be an issue with the user controls panel (E380)? Maybe the volume **** being detected as being pressed (so turn on infotainment system)? Maybe the J523 main control module is starting to flake out (if it's failing to retain settings over time); the E380 controls are processed by the J523. The J523 is behind the climate controls panel (edit, well, that's in a B8, no idea in a C6). Could be worth dismounting that just to unplug and replug the connections in case some corrosion is in play? I had to unplug/replug the connection for the backup camera on my J523 at some point years back. Been fine since.
