Hi,
I have a 2006.11 made A6 that I recently purchased. I took it to a service that supposed to have legit ross tech cable and they said they can connect to the car but cannot access anything. They asked me if it is possible that the previous owner put some security switch to cut the connection to the OBD connector. But I was not told about such thing. So I wonder what are the possible/usual reasons for not connecting OBD?

I don't know if it is related, but previously I tried to hold CAR and SETUP at the same time to bring up that "hidden menu" I saw on youtube, but it never showed up. Is there something you have to unlock that could be protecting changing specific settings?

Okay, it turned out that the previous owner of the car installed some kind of 3rd party security system that prevented OBD communication, they didn't inform me about this when I got the car, anyways thanks for the reads
