Hey I'm looking to troubleshoot a check engine light on my 2000 A6. I just bought the car a couple weeks ago, parked it after driving it and woke up the next morning to a CEL. Seems to run fine so I made sure my gas cap was tightened (I did get gas right before I shut it down for the night) and the CEL is still lit. So I tried to use my reader and it wouldn't even power up. I have a bluetooth adapter that I use with my 2004 Subaru Forester but it wont even power up on this car. THus, I can't hook it up to Torque Pro (Android) to pull the codes. I see the VCDS system is $199.99 on ross-tech.com and was wondering:

• Firstly, is this the correct product for my application?

• If so - does anyone have one for sale that they're no longer using for less than $199.99? (If not I'll buy a new one... but no sense paying full price if someone has one they're no longer using!)
• Or does anyone know of any alternatives considering its a 2000 model year vehicle and doesn't need the latest and greatest?
